Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West has caved in. The hip-hop heavyweight has weighed-in on where he stands in possibly running for president in four years.
In a new interview, Yeezy downplayed the idea of getting political and trying to rally up potential voters.
“When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views,” he added. “I don’t have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive I’m going to try to do it.”
A few days ago, Yeezy went radio silent when asked about his intent to run for president.
Kanye West … Your move. You said you were running for Prez in 2020, so … We got Yeezy at LAX Friday and our photog repeatedly asked if he was going to make good on the promise he made in August, 2015 at the VMA’s. (TMZ)

Last year, rap veteran N.O.R.E. spoke on the possibility of Yeezy running for president in 2020.
“I’m going to be Kanye’s biggest supporter when he runs for president. I think he should. I can’t vote, I’m a felon, but I’m going to make everybody I know vote for him.” (TMZ)
Ye’s wife Kim Kardashian previousy talked about his run for the presidency.
“I believe he is serious and I know if he puts his mind to something he’ll do his best… it’s been fascinating just hearing all of the conversations that have gone on since that announcement,” Kim said. “I don’t know if that was planned and I just didn’t know about it or if he came up with that idea right then and there.” (“Ellen”)
