The NBA’s stance against protesting the National Anthem didn’t deter Justine Skye. The R&B singer has made headlines after kneeling at last night’s Brooklyn Nets home opener.
Skye went to Instagram last night (October 20) to show off her pro-Black Lives Matter moment.
In early October, Cleveland Cavaliers’ JR Smith reacted to the NBA’s anti-National Anthem protest stance.
A few days prior, a report emerged about the NBA’s headline-generating memo.
According to the memo, obtained by ESPN, “the league office will determine how to deal with any possible instance in which a player, coach, or trainer does not stand for the anthem.” The memo goes on to say the rule is compulsory … teams “do not have the discretion to waive” the rule. (TMZ)
Recently, “Power” star Omari Hardwick and rapper French Montana both saluted NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick for making kneeling a Black Lives Matter statement across the nation.
I am proud of you Kaep @kaepernick7 & though i don't want to speak for the late beyond great, King Ali; i would go so far as to say he is equally proud. You do not sit for us. You stand for us all in this crippled untruthful country. And by all i mean even the man who "whodini'd" his way into the oval office. He is just too NOT you to see it. That is tragic of course. You, my man….are a conscientious young leader with a heart for change. EVERY team in the @nfl could use you…..for so many deeper reasons. Keep on "Kaeping" on. 👊🏽
