Dipset’s Juelz Santana is not ready to let go of late rapper Chinx and recently revealed an interest in putting together a charity event for his family.
Juelz dished his idea onto social media this past holiday weekend and suggested all proceeds go to Chinx’s family.
The LOX’s Jadakiss co-signed Santana’s initiative on social media a few days ago.
Family members and friends paid homage to Chinx at a funeral service in New York Tuesday (May 26).
Family and friends are gathering Tuesday to bid a final farewell to a Queens rapper who was murdered in his car. Lionel Pickens, 31, was shot and killed May 17 in a drive-by shooting. Services are being held at the Greater Allen AME Cathedral of New York in Jamaica. (ABC 7)
Chinx’s cousin Norman Seabrook, head of a corrections officers union, spoke out during the funeral service.
“Violence has hit home,” he said after the service, as the rapper’s coffin was being loaded into a hearse. “He’s a kid who turned his life around and he gets assassinated. The police are doing a good job. Let’s hope they catch somebody.” (NY Daily News)
Chinx’s mentor French Montana posted up a picture from the funeral with his son.
