West Coast rapper Joey Fatts has paid homage to the memory of late A$AP Mob founder A$AP Yams with the release of his “Stevie Wonder” track.
Fatts released his tribute song early Tuesday (January 20).
Long Beach’s Joey Fatts was close with the New York mogul-in-training. Early this morning (Jan. 20), the rapper uploaded a new song, “Stevie World,” to his Soundcloud account. He was hasty–the two-minute song is stretched out twice as long with a patch of silence. It’s fitting; Yams liked his rap with menace and grime, and anything too clean was an affront to the truth. Footage of group member A$AP Ferg representing for Yams at a show Sunday (January 18) landed online this week.
At a show last night in the DMV area, that eulogizing extended to Yams’ inner circle as A$AP Ferg took a moment between songs to be silent for his fallen friend, before reminding the crowd: “If Yams was here to party with us right now, he might have told you he f*cked your b*tch.” (XXL Mag)
A$AP Mob’s A$AP Ant came forward to rule out Yams overdose reports this week.
“It ain’t no overdose. People stop saying overdose ’cause that’s not what it is. It’s not an overdose. People keep talking about he overdosed on Xanax and shit like that, lean. No, that’s not what happened at all. I don’t wanna talk on it. It wasn’t that though at all.” (VLAD TV)
A$AP Mob’s A$AP Rocky broke the shocking news to fans on Instagram early Sunday (January 18).
