New York rapper Joey Bada$$ isn’t sweating over his recent feud with fellow Brooklyn hip-hop artist Troy Ave and explained his disinterest in discussing it this week.
In a new interview, Joey referenced Troy making an entire song aimed at him with his “Bada$$” diss.
“I know you wanted to [talk about it]. I seen it bubbling behind, everybody wanna talk about it but you know what? Our time could be better spent in a better place. My last words would say, I gave you one line, you made a whole song/If I give you more rhymes, you’ll be working a year long.” (Shade 45)
Recently, New York rap veteran Fabolous weighed-in on the Joey and Troy dispute.
“I met Troy Ave in the streets – we built our relationship from there. The first time I met him, I didn’t even know he rapped – we ended up clicking,” Fab said regarding his relationship with Troy Ave. “I don’t know all that happened. I heard Troy respond and I heard one of the guys came at Troy, came at him about his albums sales. So I don’t really know everything that happened in it. … It’s not just New York though, it’s a competitive sport so when people throw shots at you, you know, you gotta expect a retaliation too or a reply.” (WiLD 94.1)
Earlier this month, Joey penned a lengthy Instagram post to defend his decision not to drop a diss record on Ave.
Troy Ave allegedly responded to Joey’s disses with his own Instagram post.
