Byrd Gang leader Jim Jones recently revealed his aim to release a new Diplomat project and his desire to reunite with the estranged Dipset member Cam’ron.

The Harlem-bred emcee also detailed the importance of Cam making the album happen.

“I’m only one piece of this puzzle, there’s three other players,” Jones told radio personality Angie Martinez. “I think there’s two other people who are in…I’m willing to get another Diplomat album done for the sake of us being selfish these past few years and change and our personal differences. It’s been more to it, it wasn’t just us that made Diplomats happen…for that, I think we owe it to ourselves and a lot of other people…A Diplomat album can’t be done without everyone’s participation, everybody feeling the same way about making this thing happen.” (Angie Martinez Show)

Cam recently released a video turning down the possibility of a group reunion with Dipset prior to Jones’ statements.

“Look, I hear the deejays, I hear the fans, I hear everybody,” Cam said in an interview. “I’m not doing a Diplomats album. I’m not rhyming with Jim or Juelz [Santana] or nothing. I wish them all the best of luck. Accept it people. The people don’t wanna seem to accept it. I don’t have time to do that, it’s not happening, I’m not doing it…And hopefully the people will get it in their head. Cam is doing Cam. I’m not doing no Diplomat Immunity 3 album. I hope they’ll do it and I wish them luck. Stop dreaming. Stop hoping. Stop wishing. Stop imagining. I’m not doing it. Official. What’s today’s date? Thursday, March 26th, 2009: Cameron Giles, aka Spacely Sprockets aka Jaffe Joe aka Killa Cam aka KFC, whatever you wanna call me, I am not doing no Diplomat 3 album. That’s it.” (NowWutTV)

Jones also hinted at reuniting with Killa last week.

“For the most part I’ve been selfish about a lot of things this past year,” Jones said. “I’m just extending my hand to the contribution of getting this Diplomat business done. If Cam’ron is listening, maybe we could sit down to get some business together and give the people what they want…Cam has always been on the top of business as far as making money. We spoke. I was doing a lot of’ too. So hopefully I’ma do what I told him in the conversation…Aside from everything else, it’s a lot of unfinished business.” (Hot 97)

In past interviews, Cam has said he would be willing to do a group album for financial purposes.

“As far as the Diplomats, I’m a majority owner of the Diplomats,” Cam said in an interview. “The role I am is the CEO. As far as with my friends, you talking about Jim, they also have ownership in the company, also. I mean, right now…For me, if the money’s right, I’ll do [a reunion]. It’s all about having the right money and making sure everything’s cool. Just to do it just to do it would be kinda phony. You know, if the money’s right, we can put anything into motion. But the money’s gotta be right.” (True Magazine)
