For Caption Diss, the good ol’ folks at SOHH are back at it giving y’all a chance to capture the final word(s). The “Best We’ve Ever Read” headline gets to hold down that Cap Diss crown for a whole week. Who run it?

Jigga what? Jigga who? Jay Z isn’t walking around with the confidence he used to have as people try to figure out whether or not Tidal is a legit service or something Jay’s trying to make bank on. But that’s not stopping him from going out in public with his drop-dead gorgeous wife Beyoncé and appearing like he doesn’t have a worry in the world. But what’s going on in this brief moment? Is Jay having a moment? Hhhmmmm………………..? #

Sorry. I couldn’t help but having to take over this Cap Diss, y’all. There were a couple strong contenders, but the Katy Perry line? LOL. Classic.

  1. “Hands to your body Jaaaay…” – okay, okay B, I ain’t even gon’ look……..i pro…mise

  2. No body question whether these white billionaires at Beats or Spotify are legit or here just to make a profit But Jay-z is held to a different standard this black on black racism is disgusting

    • Actually, in the world of business money is color blind. The top and bottom line is all that matters when the numbers come in. As a full time investor we salivate for quarterly earnings releases and forward guidance. In the final analysis Tidal will either be a money maker or a money loser. If it’s successful and profitable all the current melodrama will fade into the ether. Otherwise Jay and his investors will have to cut their loses and move on.

As far as Tidal being a successful business model, I’m in the camp that says it will never close the gap already secured by Spotify, Pandora and Beats/Apple music. Additionally, it would take an inordinate amount of money/investment and solve a problem in the already crowded space that doesn’t seem to exist. Finally, the incentive for folk who stream music to pay Tidal for what they generally get for free is highly unlikely.
