According to reports, the music mogul wiped his tax-related problems away around mid-January.

Jermaine Dupri is eatin’ crab, watching bitches shake s**t all night … you know why? Because the music mogul just took a huge load off his shoulders — AND PAID OFF A $3 MILLION TAX LIEN!!!! The lien was filed by the IRS in 2008, claiming Dupri didn’t pay all his taxes from way back in 2006 … to the tune of $3,095,004.64. But the rapper finally stepped up and paid off the massive bill and the lien was released on January 18. It officially makes Dupri a super tax debt destroyer … as you’ll recall he coughed up almost $500,000 last year to pay off a different lien filed in Georgia. Now if only he could use those powers on his mortgage. (TMZ)

Back in 2009, JD reportedly owed over $3.2 million in taxes to the government.

The state of Georgia filed a $135,749 lien against him Nov. 17, 2008, in Fulton County Superior Court. The IRS filed a $3,095,004 lien against him Sept. 4, 2008, in the Westchester County (N.Y.) Clerk’s office. “I can assist you in telling you that all of the taxes have been paid and my law firm has been, and is, in the process of getting the liens removed in normal course,” Kane wrote in an e-mail. “As to any other information, you can certainly understand under the attorney-client privilege that I am not able make any further comment.” (Detroit News)

The platinum-selling music producer made headlines in the early 2000’s when his home was raided by federal agents for tax-related problems.

He’s the man responsible for the sub-genre known as Kiddie Rap, which vaulted such pre-pubescent hoodlums as Kriss Kross and Lil Bow Wow to the top of the charts. Back in 2002, Dupri got raided by federal agents. They confiscated furniture, computers and cars. His debt to the IRS was reported as $2,541,865. (Tax Prep 101)

Outside of money-related issues, JD’s bringing back his former So So Def family for a reunion later this month.

Atlanta-based So So Def Records will celebrate 20 years of making music by holding a concert at the Fox Theater. Mayor Kasim Reed joined the label and hip hop artists on Tuesday to announce a 20th anniversary concert on Feb. 23. So So Def stars Jermaine Dupri, Xscape, Kris Kross and Da Brat will perform at the reunion celebration. (My Fox Atlanta)
