Hollywood actress Jennifer “J.Lo” Lopez continues to expand her portfolio by taking on a chief creative officer job at NuvoTV in New York this week.

Lopez officially received the new position at the network’s annual upfront gathering on Wednesday (May 15).

NuvoTV is getting a makeover thanks to Jennifer Lopez. The network providing culturally relevant programming for English-speaking Latinos, which was founded in 2004, has teamed up with J.Lo for a brand new movement. The Boricua pop star, who took a majority stake in the company last year, was officially appointed chief creative officer of the channel, which reaches an estimated 31 million homes nationwide. The 43-year-old used Wednesday’s event to discuss her relationship with the growing Hispanic network.

In an interview before the presentation, Miss Lopez said that about two years ago she was approached by NUVOtv to serve “probably more as the face of the network. But once we sat down and I started expressing my point of view about the programming and the network, it grew into something bigger.” She said that, with the support of her own production company, she will be involved in marketing, branding and program development. “A network that reflects the modern Latino experience, but in English, must have the quality that everybody has,” she said. Not wasting any time, NuvoTV will air a few shows with direct connections to Lopez.

She told advertisers today: “Latinos are a force in this country. We are an engine for growth — we have huge economic power and unprecedented political and cultural influence and it’s time for television to reflect who the modern Latino actually is — not who we are believed to be, not who we may have been, but who we are now”. Among NuvoTV’s offerings this year are several with Lopez ties, including a biography special and an unscripted series about the backup dancers on her world tour. (Deadline)

Last night, the singer appeared on Fox’s “American Idol” season finale.

J.Lo is well-known for her fierce onstage looks, but she looked as flawless as ever while performing on the May 16 finale of ‘American Idol’. Don’t you LOVE her luscious locks? Jennifer Lopez, 43, gave an amazing performance of her new song, “Live It Up,” with her collaborator, Pitbull, 32, right before the season 12 winner was revealed. Not only did her spot-on new hit provoke a standing ovation, but we couldn’t keep our eyes off her perfect look and sexy curls! (Hollywood Life)
