Hip-hop won big this week. Rap stars Jeezy, Meek Mill and A$AP Mob all had retail projects which landed in the Top 30 on the sales chart.
After a major rollout last week, Jeezy’s Trap Or Die 3 steered clear of its competition while Meek’s DC4 and A$AP’s Cozy Tapes, Vol. 1 followed behind.
Last weekend estimates had Jeezy’s new album atop its hip-hop retail rivals.
Recently, the Snowman talked about wanting to possibly do a joint album with rap mogul Jay Z.
“We talked about it after we went on tour. We had a couple of words about doing a project like that. At the time, he got busy and I got busy but there was definitely a conversation had about us doing some type of project whether it was an EP, a street album, or whatever. We would have to go in because it is me and him, so we would have to really go in and find a happy medium as far as the sound. But I definitely don’t think it’s impossible.” (Rap-Up)
Last week, Jeezy announced he had a new album called Snow Season in the works.
“I’m feeling so good I’m going to go ahead and announce my next project,” Jeezy said in an interview. “If you see my hashtagging Snow Season, that’s for a reason. The first project was Trap Or Die 3 and my next project, I’m announcing it right now, is Snow Season. So, keep hashtagging Snow Season, I’m letting you know we on that ASAP. So it won’t be no retiring just yet.” (Complex)
