Atlanta rapper Jeezy is reportedly behind bars after being arrested this week on a gun possession charge following a fatal shooting a few days ago during rap pal Wiz Khalifa's "Under The Influence" tour.
According to reports, law enforcement has gone after Jeezy for possessing an assault rifle.
We’re told Irvine PD executed a search warrant on the rapper’s tour bus Sunday at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in connection with the shooting in Mountain View, CA … where a man died after being shot 5 times. Jeezy is on tour with Wiz … and law enforcement sources tell us during the search cops found an assault rifle they believe belongs to Jeezy. Several members of Jeezy’s entourage were also arrested for gun possession. Jeezy’s being held on $1,000,000 bail — and he’s still in custody. (TMZ)
Wiz’s Saturday (August 23) show had been cancelled as a result of a Friday evening death.
Wiz Khalifa’s concert in Chula Vista, California Saturday night has been cancelled … following a shooting that broke out in the backstage area of his gig the night before. A Ticketmaster employee tells us the show was cancelled this afternoon … but no further details were made available to them at this time — and the venue hasn’t picked up their phone. (TMZ)
Wiz had since stepped forward to issue a statement on the fatal incident.
As we previously reported … a man was shot to death backstage at Khalifa’s concert near San Jose Friday night. One source tells us the man was shot at least 5 times. Cops tell us they believe the shooter and victim had no connection to Wiz … which makes the concert cancellation slightly confusing. Wiz says, “Due to a situation out of our control, tonight’s UTIOM show is cancelled. This was a senseless tragedy. Violence is never the answer. My prayers go out to the victim’s family.” (TMZ)
