Jeezy Reacts To ‘Seen It All’ First-Week Sales

Atlanta rapper Jeezy has taken a moment to enjoy the success of his new Seen It All solo album nearly topping the sales chart after seven days on store shelves.

The “Snowman” hopped onto social media to thank fans for supporting his latest LP.

Jeezy’s first-week sales pushed well over 100,000 copies in just seven days…

Jeezy’s new album debuted at number two behind Maroon 5‘s chart-topping V, which sold 164,000 copies.

Rapper Jeezy accounted for the week’s other six-figure seller, as “Seen It All: The Autobiography” (Def Jam) placed at No. 2 with a 121,000-unit week. The Atlanta-bred performer – born Jay Wayne Jenkins, and formerly known professionally as Young Jeezy – has a pair of No. 1 albums to his credit: “The Inspiration” (2006) and “The Recession” (2008). His last outing, 2011’s “TM: 203 Hustlerz Ambition,” peaked at No. 3. (Chicago Tribune)

Despite the hefty sales, overall album numbers are down from recent years.

Finally, some megastar albums come out — Maroon 5’s V and Jeezy’s Seen It All: The Autobiography — but they move the overall sales needle not even a tiny bit. Album sales are still down 15 percent, track sales are still down 13 percent, and so it shall probably be through the rest of the year. (Rolling Stone)
