Atlanta rapper Jeezy knows what police brutality and racism looks like and he's not afraid to call it out. The Georgia native expressed his disbelief and disgust in reaction to a video circulating online of a Black and Latino military sergeant being held at gunpoint by Virginia police.
Jeezy Calls Attention To Police Brutality
In the viral video, an army officer by the name of Caron Nazario is shown sitting in his car with his hands raised and a police officer aiming a gun at him. Before long, Nazario is directed to leave his vehicle and can be seen being pushed by officers to the ground with his hands behind his back. Following the incident, Nazario described it as a violent traffic stop that involved him being threatened, knocked down, and pepper-sprayed.
“What part of this is protecting and serving! After you went and fought for the country. It’s like they wanted to take his masculinity to feed egos!! Let’s see what the government do about this. I see no threat, only a man that was confused and understood protocol. He asked the right questions. They didn’t have any answers. Shits break my heart to see a grown man handled like animal. Jeezy Reveals His Mother Has Been Laid To Rest
In February 2021, Jeezy took to Instagram to mourn his mom (his “Super Hero”) and pour his emotions out. He shared a photo of her casket alongside a video of his mother, and let it be known she had been laid to rest in his tearjerking caption.
