Music mogul Jay Z‘s popular TIDAL streaming service isn’t going anywhere any time soon and has announced its expansion into Mexico.

According to a TIDAL press release, Mexico-based music fans can now use its services.

Global music and entertainment platform TIDAL, is now available in Mexico, offering music fans a new way to experience music and connect with their favorite artists. The TIDAL platform will offer more than 30 million songs, 75,000 high quality videos and expertly curated playlists and content. The platform is streaming music from a variety Mexican artists including: C-Kan, La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de Rene Camacho, Banda el Recodo and Cartel de Santa. (Press Release)

Recently, rap star Drake‘s manager Future the Prince addressed TIDAL’s claim of Apple Music possibly threatening legal action if he appeared in a stream of its Lil Weezyana Fest concert last month.

“The decision to not have Drake participate in the Tidal steam has nothing to do with Apple or Drake’s deal,” Drake’s manager Future the Prince told BuzzFeed News. “Point blank, 100%. I made a business decision. Apple doesn’t have the power to stop us from being part of a live stream. The only people that have the power to do that are Cash Money and Universal, and they’re our partners.” (BuzzFeed)

Reports claimed Tidal could face legal heat from Apple Music over Drizzy appearing on its live broadcast of artist Lil Wayne‘s Lil Weezyana Fest concert last month.

Sources say the tech giant threatened to sue for $20 million if Drake appeared, or if his music was streamed live, on Tidal. A source told us, “Legal letters have been sent to Tidal warning that Drake cannot appear on the Tidal stream of the festival, either solo or part of a group, and if the warning was ignored, the liabilities could be up to $20 million. (NY Post)

Tidal confirmed the drama and addressed it on Twitter.
