Seemingly out of the blue, M.E.M. released his latest musical offering to the masses on Veteran’s Day.

Its been a minute since we heard from New York City’s own, Memphis Bleek. That stops today as the wordsmith returns with a brand new video for his track “Let That Beat Roc”. The cut is a smooth, rather dope number driven by a smooth organ melody that gets backed up by some tough, rattling drums. As the beat provides the home, Memphis rides it like a pro, showing off his wordplay and bringing the party to life, showing off his lavish lifestyle, while doing the same on the mic. Memphis always been nice on the mic, this shit is dope. (Stupid Dope)

Last year, Bleek said he had invested attention to his son and was not rushing out any new tunes.

“I’ve been in the cut, raising my son, doing the family thing and leaving music on the backburner a little bit,” Bleek explained during his first appearance on the show. “It’s like Jay said: ‘The rap game reminds you of the crack game.’ I been away so long, you can’t just come back selling product; you’ve gotta give away some testers so they know you got the raw. It’s just what it is.” (MTV)

The Brooklyn rapper also said his record company had gone on a brief hiatus.

“Get Low Records took a break a little bit,” he said, addressing the lull in music. “My man H. Money Bags got incarcerated after we dropped the record; he’s just coming home. My man Geda K, he was out there doing his thing. Livin’ Proof, Calico, everybody just went their own way as grown men to do their thing. But we’re all family at the end of the day. I just spoke to everybody. We’re trying to put this thing back together and get Get Low where it’s supposed to be.” (MTV)

Bleek previously hit up SOHH and discussed the concept behind his Get Low imprint.

“Roc-A-Fella for life,” Bleek told SOHH. “Even though Roc-A-Fella’s in the blood, [Jay] gave me the opportunity to step out and make Get Low Records for my own company and really get all the proceeds, make all the money from my projects. And I don’t think nobody right now, nobody’s boss would let them do that in the position I’m in and still be on stage with them touring.” (SOHH)
