Music mogul JAY-Z‘s mom Gloria Carter has dished out on having her son expose all on his hit “Smile” single.

In a new “D’USSE Friday” interview, Gloria talked about coming out about her sexuality with Young Hov.

“Besides your mother, this is the person that I am. You know, this is the life that I live. My son started actually tearing, like, ‘That had to be a horrible life, Ma’ … My life was never horrible. It was just different. So, that made him want to do a song about it.” Carter admitted that after she first heard the song, she wasn’t “feeling that.” “Because when it first happened, I was sharing myself with you,” she explained. “Not to share myself with the world. I was like,’I don’t know if I’m ready for that.'” (ABC News)

A few months ago, NFL superstar Cam Newton co-signed JAY’s “Smile” song.

Back in late June, JAY raised eyebrows by announcing his mother’s sexual preference.

A few years back, JAY publicly talked about his support for same-sex marriage.

The rap mogul is known for having a close-knit bond with his mom and using her with his music.

Jay fans will likely remember his mother’s voice from his Black Album song “December 4th” where she contributed the intro and interludes talking about Jay’s birth and what he was like as a child. Gloria is also the co-founder of Jay’s charity organization, The Shawn Carter Foundation. (Genius)
