Rap mogul Jay Z has released a special treat on his 44th birthday by giving diehard UGK fans an unreleased Pimp C verse for the new "Tom Ford" remix.
In honor of his special day and the anniversary of Pimp C passing, Young Hov dropped the unexpected anthem to the masses.
December 4th not only marks Jay Z’s birthday, it also serves as rememberance in the hip-hop community as UGK member Pimp C passed on this day. Although he did not react to Jay’s tribute, UGK’s Bun paid his respect to the rapper’s 44th birthday and remembered Pimp’s life.
“Prayers up to the Butler family today. To all the friends and family of Chad Lamont Butler. Do something good today in his name. #RIPPIMPC”
“All I wanna do is laugh with my brother again. Mama Wes you know we were just 2 boys from PA that made… http://instagram.com/p/hgPksfjQzc/”
“Happy birthday @S_C_ #HOVegan,” Bun tweeted December 4. (Bun B’s Twitter)
A few weeks ago, Bun recalled UGK landing onto Jay’s now-iconic “Big Pimpin'” record.
“When he first called and said it was him, I thought it was someone playing on my phone. He called me back, and he was like ‘Yo family.,'” Bun said in an interview. “He hit me with that Jay voice. Pimp like, ‘What he want?’. ‘Tell him to send it. We’ll see.'” (“The Breakfast Club”)
