Details on the upcoming multi-city tour landed online Monday (August 23) morning.

The promoter giant’s newly formed Australian affiliate is behind the upcoming U2 360 tour, which will take a detour down under in November. Rapper Jay-Z will join the party as a special guest. U2’s 360 tour will pull in to Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium on Nov. 25, then move on to open-air venues in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and conclude Dec. 18 at Perth’s Subiaco Oval, marking the first time the Irish group has played the Western Australian capital since the “Popmart” tour in 1998. The Australasian dates announced today are produced by Live Nation Global Touring in association with Michael Coppel Presents (MCP) and Live Nation Australia. (Billboard Biz)

The billing reportedly will be Jay’s second trip to perform Down Under.

Jay-Z will play for about an hour before the Irish group takes to the stage. With 10 Grammy awards to his name, the rapper is regarded as one of the most successful artists. It will be his second Australian visit. Jay-Z and U2 have combined in the past, thrilling fans by performing Sunday Bloody Sunday in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin last November. Jay’s last set in Australia dates back four years ago.

One of the most successful artists of all time, Jay Z last played in Australia in 2006 and has never played in New Zealand. U2 and Jay Z will be playing in Auckland on November 25 at Mt Smart Stadium. A special deal will see some tickets start at $40. However, most people will pay $100 for general admission tickets. Following the show in Auckland, the band will travel to Australia for shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth. (TV NZ News)

Next month, the rap mogul will team up with Eminem for concerts in Detroit and New York City.

The two titans of the hip-hop world attended Wednesday night’s New York-Detroit game at Comerica Park to announce they’d be playing at the Yankees’ ballpark on Sept. 13. Eleven days earlier, though, Jay-Z will be back in the Motor City to play with Eminem at the latter’s hometown ballpark, Comerica. They made the announcement during appearances on several television broadcasts of Wednesday night’s game. (Associated Press)
