Music mogul Jay Z is either on one tonight or had his Twitter page hacked. The hip-hop mogul has penned an unforgettable and epic open note to his biggest inspirations.
Late Thursday (June 15) night, Jigga’s Twitter feed exploded with ample name-drops and salutations to music biz’s biggest – and smallest – entertainers.
Earlier in the day, Jay’s companies TIDAL and Roc Nation celebrated his induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
In March, Jay Z celebrated his Songwriters Hall of Fame class induction with a must-hear TIDAL playlist.
Outside of accolades, Jigga has kept busy clocking in studio time with reggae veteran Damian Marley.
“We did some work in the studio recently and he wanted to come to Jamaica to get a tour of the place,” Marley tells Billboard over the phone. “He’s been to Jamaica before, but never Kingston. So he wanted to come down to Kingston and asked us if we could have been there to show him around and give him a tour musically, in terms of our history in Kingston. … I did some work with him for some stuff that he’s working on. I’m not really sure of the details of his project in that sense, but we worked on some music together. I’ve been a fan of his music since he came out. We’ve never done any musical work together. So that was a joy to finally work together musically.” (Billboard)
