Jay will lay down his vocals on a remix of Sade’s “Moon & The Sky”.

Sade, who took a decade-long hiatus before 2010’s Grammy-winning comeback ‘Soldier of Love,’ is back with a new hits album, and Jay-Z has put his stamp on it. ‘The Ultimate Collection’ double-disc includes classic, whispery Sade tunes alongside three new cuts. In addition to unreleased cuts, the project will also feature some of the singer’s biggest hits.

Along with selling out tour dates all over the country, Sade is also releasing “The Ultimate Collection,” an all new best-of including classic Sade tracks plus some never-before-heard material. The two-disc set will feature Sade’s biggest hits, as chronicled in their previous collection 1994’s “The Best of Sade,” plus their latest hits from platinum-selling “Lovers’ Rock” and “Soldier of Love.” (Gant Daily)

Last October, Sade revealed artists like Jay-Z had approached her about collaboration opportunities.

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Sade reveals that Jay-Z and other MCs have approached her about rapping over her beats or having her sing the hook on their records, but she has politely declined. “I’m too scared,” she tells writer Nelson George. “They’ll find me out. It’s like The Wizard of Oz. They’ll find out there’s nothing there. As for collaborations, I’m collaborating with the band and do what we do. I see myself as a member of this band who does these songs that we write.” If you’re one of the lucky few who does get a sample cleared, Sade says it won’t cost you much. “When it comes to sample clearances, I’m probably the cheapest chick in the west,” she muses. In mid-2010, Sade opened up about rapper Drake reportedly trying to collaborate with her.

“I don’t think they have contacted me,” she explained in an interview. “I’ve never collaborated because I’ve always avoided working outside my safety zone — I can be exactly who I am and can fail or success within the moment. I feel safe working like I do. I wouldn’t want to work in a situation where I am expected to deliver because I think I wouldn’t deliver.” (National Post)

Sade’s Ultimate Collection will hit stores on May 3rd.
