Music mogul Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports roster has expanded by one with the addition of boxing middleweight champion Andre Ward.
Ward broke the big power move news on social media Friday (January 9).

Check out these additional details right here…
Despite an impressive 27-0 record, Ward hasn’t laced up in roughly two years.
It seems like a good union for both parties … Jay’s reportedly been trying to get into the boxing game for a while but was holding out for a fighter with real star-power. As for Ward — he hasn’t fought in nearly two years due to business disputes with his former promoter … but it’s clear he feels Jay can get him back on track. (TMZ)
A Roc Nation Sports executive recently provided big details on Jay branching out to boxing.
“All of us at Roc Nation Sports are thrilled to announce our first boxing event along with our first series and television deal,” said David Itskowitch, the chief operating officer of Roc Nation Sports’ boxing division. “An evening of exciting fights, great music and fantastic entertainment will be a fitting way to kick off Throne Boxing, a series that will stand alone on the boxing landscape.” (Statement)
Roc Nation is expected to have a performance go down at the January 9 Madison Square Garden fight.
In addition to the fights on Jan. 9, of which $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Muhammad Ali Center, Roc Nation Sports said there will also be live performances by Roc Nation artists still to be announced. (ESPN)
Tickets for the first fight night went on sale last month.
Tickets for the Jan. 9 fight will be priced at $205, $105, $55 and $30 (plus any Ticketmaster charges), and go on sale Tuesday, December 9 at 1:00 p.m. ET and will be available for purchase at the Madison Square Garden box office, online at www.thegarden.com and at all Ticketmaster outlets. One dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to the Muhammad Ali Center. (Billboard)
Hov keeps showing 50 how to do business
Yeah, to quit doing interviews about Jay and just get money. Every interview he talks about Jay in some form or fashion.
Glad ya noticed lol
dam ward u coulda been cleaning up while everybody was waiting on floyd/many fight
He’s ducking Triple G though…
Triple G ducking him
Outside of $$$May and Manny that’s the only fight that I want to see…hopefully Hov can make it happen.
Andre Ward beat my boy Chad Dawson but he’s been inactive for some time. I heard he was having trouble with finding a new team after beefing with his manager who recently passed. Hopefully Hov doesn’t jerk dude on the business tip as a lot of people fuck with Ward. I’m lookin’ forward to him fighting GGG or Adonis though he’d have to move up in weight for the latter option.
