Rock recently detailed the motivation behind his album title.

“Watts is like the motherland. When people were coming from the South, black folks – it was nothing but projects in Watts. If you go into Compton or Long Beach and ask where your great, great grandmother or grandmother was raised at, she might tell you the projects in Watts. That’s where a lot of families streamed from. Then they just spread it out all around. [The album title,] I wanted to solidify my city. Like you said, you’re always hearing Compton, Inglewood, Long Beach, it’s time for Watts baby.” (“The Breakfast Club”)

Last month reports suggested the new album would arrive in early September.

Now, as 2DopeBoyz points out, the record seems to have an at least tentative release date. According to a Best Buy presale page, physical copies of the album are set to be released on September 11th and according to the Twitter user who made the discovery, digital copies are coming September 4th.
