Why Is Janet Jackson Getting Sued?

Pop icon Janet Jackson has a lawsuit filed against her by her business management team, David Weise and Associates. According to media reports, Jackson has failed to pay the law firm their dues after entering a “business management services agreement” with them in August 2017. The total debt she owes is allegedly over $235K.

This Isn’t Janet’s First Rodeo

It may be hard to believe, but these allegations leveled against the “Rhythm Nation” songstress has a precedent. Jackson was sued by a fan after her tour was unexpectedly rescheduled, in April 2017.

Live Nation failed to issue the fan, Tiana Adams, a refund when it was announced that Jackson’s “Unbreakable” tour would be postponed after she gave birth to her son, Eissa Al Mana, according to court documents. A second lawsuit was filed against her in December 2018 when Danny O’Donovan, her former tour manager, claims he wasn’t paid what he was promised.

Allegedly, based on a report by Pitchfork, he was promised $25K per month for his duties. He later sued her for up to $300K which he asserts he was owed.

Lil Wayne Sued After Former Assistant Alleges Weezy Punched Him

It appears most celebrities are getting sued. In June 2022, the “Uproar” artist was sued by his former assistant Andrew Williams for allegedly punching him in the face. Documents reveal that Williams was assaulted by the rapper after attempting to stop an altercation between Wayne and a pilot.

Williams also had to speak with doctors about his sustained injuries after the altercation between him and the “No Worries” rapper.
