Jamie Foxx Addresses Wild Health Speculations

With a touch of humor, Foxx addressed the wild speculations surrounding his health, dismissing rumors of being cloned and assuring his fans that he’s back and ready to continue his legacy in the entertainment industry.

Jamie Foxx took to Instagram on July 22 to give his fans a long-awaited update following his hospitalization in April. In the emotionally charged two-minute video, the multi-talented entertainer revealed that his hesitation to share an update was because he didn’t want his fans to see him in a vulnerable state, “tubed up”.  He expressed his desire for his supporters to witness him laughing and back on his feet, saying, “I want you to see me laugh.”

Gratitude and Appreciation

During the video, Foxx expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, the medical staff, and two important people in his life who played a significant role in his recovery: his sister, Deidra Dixon, and his daughter, Corrine. He praised them for keeping updates about his health “airtight” and thanked them for being instrumental in saving his life.

With a touch of humor, Foxx addressed some of the wild speculations that emerged during his health scare. He tackled rumors that he was blind and paralyzed by demonstrating that he can still go cross-eyed. Additionally, the actor responded to a circulating rumor that he had been cloned by playfully tugging on his face and neck to assure viewers that he was the real Jamie Foxx. He emphasized, “I’m here on Earth because of God,” debunking the outlandish conspiracy theories.

The “Blame It” singer  confidently stated that he is back and ready to dive back into his work. After sharing how he went “to hell and back”, Foxx expressed determination to continue entertaining his audience with his jokes, songs, and movies. To add to the excitement surrounding the film, Netflix has partnered with Sage “Donkmaster Thomas,” a prominent figure in the Donk community, to design a customized old-school Donk car that captures the essence and style of They Cloned Tyrone. The collaboration resulted in a unique vehicle featuring a state-of-the-art entertainment system, 26-inch Rucci wheels, and a 32-inch TV inside the trunk, promising an immersive experience.

Promoting the film, the official Netflix “Strong Black Lead” Twitter account announced that the Donk car would embark on a Strong Black Summer tour, starting in Miami at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF). Netflix wrote:

“Come see for yourself, our donk is hitting the road for Strong Black Summer and our first stop is Miami at ABFF! And be sure to catch They Cloned Tyrone July 21, only on Netflix”.  Jamie Foxx himself took to Instagram to share the film’s trailer release and build anticipation among his followers where he captioned “It’s about to go down. #TheyClonedTyrone coming July 21, only on @netflix.”
