The Lox‘s Jadakiss recently spoke with radio personality Angie Martinez about his reunion with DMX and confirmed the rapper’s presence on his upcoming “Who’s Real” remix.
While Jada did not offer a date for the remixed street anthem, Kiss did say the record was “real close” to being released.
“Yeah the dog, welcome home baby,” Kiss said. “The dog is real good, he’s close by, he’s real close. The dog is around baby, he’s doing real good. He’s just chilling with family right now, you know what I mean? You’ll see him in a minute. [The remix] is good. I mean, his part [on the song] is done. Ladies and gentelman, you know what I do. I make magic, look forward to it, it’s coming. Real close.” (Hot 97)
X broke the news about his verse on the track in an interview last month.
“I was born ready for this [tour] man,” X said. “BFW, ‘Built For War’ that’s what we do all day, it’s nothing. It’s not a motherf*cking game man, this is what we do. It’s what we built for, it’s how we get down. Real talk. That new Kiss and Swizz [Beatz] joint, you know what I’m saying? ‘She’s phony, she’s fake, she’s fake, that’s the type of people I hate.’ Aigght? I’m on the remix, check that sh*t out son, real talk.” (AllAZHipHop)
Kiss has also said he was recruiting Kanye West and Cam’ron for the remix.
“We actually working on a few more songs right now,” Jada said in an interview. “I’m about to throw [Cam] on the ‘Who’s Real’ remix. Hopefully him and Kanye. We’re about to just trade off two or three more songs each and we’re gonna rock.” (MTV)
While X may be heard on the new record, he is also facing possible time behind bars.
DMX — who originally pled not guilty — copped a plea and pled guilty to attempted aggravated assault (a felony) back on May 22 — after an incident in which he verbally threatened guards at Tent City, Arizona, back in February. The serial law breaker is due back in Maricopa County court for sentencing on Monday (June 8). (TMZ)
No further information has been released on the “Who’s Real” remix as of today (June 5).
