Many don’t shy away from referring to J. Prince as rap’s godfather. He’s been involved in the genre for over 20 years, producing and promoting acts (more specifically those in the Houston area). Prince has been credited with helping jumpstart Drake’s career, among countless other famous rappers. He brought down the rapper from Canada and set him up with Lil Wayne, who brought him on tour. Considering all that he’s done, it’s safe to give him the godfather title.
