According to the Dreamville signee, Young Hov treated him to a few bucks following the chain-giving moment.

Bas, Cole’s new artist signed to Dreamville Records, didn’t get any bling, but got some cold hard cash from the Roc Nation boss. “It’s funny. I came offstage and I went in the green room and Jay came up to me and was like, ‘Dope set.’ Then he dapped me and gave me two $2 bills,” Bas said on “RapFix Live” Wednesday. “I got ’em in my wallet right now. I’m keeping them forever.” Bas didn’t reveal if there was any significance behind Jay’s gesture, but he did say that the Magna Carta MC had a stack of the bills. He was still blown away by it all. He also talked about having Cole as a boss and friend to guide him through the industry.

“I wrote my first raps three-and-a-half years ago, this could’ve completely passed me and I just caught a bug and I was lucky enough to be in a situation where I had great guidance in Cole and [Dreamville president Ibrahim Hamad] and people that guided me the right directions to get me to where I’m at now,” Bas said. “That stage last night was almost like a culmination of four years of work.” (MTV)

New footage of Jigga coming out with his present during Cole’s performance last night surfaced online a few days ago.

The Roc was in the building when J. Cole brought his “What Dreams May Come” tour to The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Tuesday. The North Carolina rapper, who celebrated his 29th birthday, was joined onstage by his mentor Jay Z, who performed “Public Service Announcement” and presented his protégé with his original Roc-A-Fella Records chain. “It’s his birthday, but he giving out gifts. So I think it’s only right that you get a gift,” said Jay. “That on your neck is my original Roc chain and it’s yours.” “This is unreal,” responded Cole, who thanked him and asked for one more birthday gift, that he perform “F*ckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt.” (Rap-Up)

Cole announced a partnership of his Dreamville label and Interscope Records earlier this week.

Dreamville, one of hip-hop’s most innovative and creative collectives and the force behind the phenomenal success of rapper J. Cole, whose first two albums hit #1 across the charts, has formed an exclusive label with Interscope Records. Dreamville also announced today that its first artist signing will be Bas, who has been supporting Cole on tour. “Dreamville celebrates the sort of grass roots, out-of-the-box approach to connecting artists to their fans that can help move the music industry into the future. We are very pleased to welcome Dreamville into the Interscope family,” says Joie Manda, President, Urban Music, Interscope Records. (Press Release)
