Dreamville’s J. Cole doesn’t have to worry about getting a backup job anytime soon. The hip-hop star’s new KOD album has secured nearly 400,000 copies in its opening week.

According to reports, Cole’s newest solo effort dominated the album sales chart after just seven days.

Dreamville/Roc Nation/Interscope’s J. Cole has soared to #1 on the HITS Top 50 Chart with approximately 395k for new full-length KOD. This marks the biggest bow of the year so far, surpassing Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods by more than 100k. Cole has also become the third artist in history to collect more than 300m streams for an album in one week, behind Drake and Kendrick Lamar. (HITS Daily Double)
