Dreamville’s J. Cole has no problem looking down at his competition. The hip-hop artist’s new KOD album is reportedly at the top of the iTunes charts just hours after its release.
According to a new report, Cole’s latest audio masterpiece is sitting comfy at the top of all iTunes releases in the United States.
J. Cole has created a powerful trailer for the just-released KOD (Dreamsville/Roc Nation/Interscope), which, as he explains at the top of the piece, as well as at listening events in New York and London, stands for “kids on drugs.” The album has flown to #1 at iTunes in the U.S. and 35 other territories (including but not limited to Ireland, Israel, Jordan, Burkina Faso and The Cayman Islands) and top 5 in more than 100 more. Atlanta rapper T.I. has already co-signed the new must-hear release.
This week, J. Cole came through and released a trailer confirming his album title has multiple meanings.
J. Cole’s new album KOD is out at midnight tonight. Before it arrives, he’s shared a new trailer for the record that outlines what the abbreviated title stands for. There are multiple abbreviations—Kids on Drugs, King Overdose, and Kill Our Demons—accompanied by a monologue that explains the relevance of each title. (Pitchfork)
