Leave it to none other than J. Cole to remind us why he is one of the goats of the rap game. The North Carolina rapper just dropped a remix to Drake’s “Pipe Down” from Certified Lover Boy and it’s safe to say he made it his own, then added his two cents on top.
J. Cole Raps In New Visual For “Heavens Ep”
Cole flows so effortlessly on “Pipe Down’s” beat you might forget it was originally Drake’s song. He delivered bar after bar about the public opinion, his peers in the rap game, past struggles, and ranking third in the rap game behind Drake and Kendrick.
“Some people say that I’m running third. They threw bronze at me behind Drake and Dot. Yeah them n*ggas superstars to me.”
J. Cole Will Go On “Off Season” Tour Soon
“Heavens EP” also came with a visual directed by Simon Chasalow and focused mostly on Cole and his crew in Las Vegas. He’s seen on a private jet, under the city’s bright lights, and in a hotel.
J. Cole released his contender for album of the year “The Off Season” back in May. It consisted of 12 tracks with features from heavy hitters in the game including 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Morray, and 6lack. The album scored Cole his sixth straight number one album on the Billboard 200 charts. Cole is now preparing to go on tour for “The Off-Season”. Listen to “Heaven’s EP” below.
