As J.Cole dropped unreleased tracks on NBA 2K23, he also collaborated with newly emerging talent Smino on their new song, “90 Proof.”

Smino shared pictures on his Instagram with the Dreamville boss, leaving many with the question, “Who Is Smino?”

Here are some things you might not know about the up-and-coming rapper:

1. Who Is Christopher Smith?

Smino’s legal name is Christopher Smith. He was born and raised in St.Louis, Missouri.

2. He Has Two Studio Albums

Smino has released two studio albums: blkswn in 2017 and NOIR in 2018.

3. He’s A Businessman

He is the founder of the rap group Zero Fatigue along with rappers Bari, Monte Booker, Jay2, and Ravyn Lenae.

4. A Jack Of All Trades

Along with Zero Fatigue, he is a member of the rap group Zoink Gang with “Dance Now” rapper J.I.D., Buddy, and Guapdad 4000.

5. Brooklyn Mirage Performance

In August, Smino performed at the Brooklyn Mirage Festival and was received well by the crowd.

Who Is Vory?

Another emerging talent in the industry is Vory.

He came onto the scene as a dual-threat talent as a rapper and singer. 

The up-and-coming artist released his debut album, Lost Souls, and is also signed to Meek Mill’s DreamChasers.

Vory is a 24-year-old from Houston and has written for artists such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Bryson Tiller just to name a few.
