At the age of 12, Cole began to rap and eventually received a $1,500 ASR-X sampler to produce his own songs a few years later. He never put 100% of his time towards rapping growing up and often was busy with other things, despite showing a remarkable aptitude for music (he was even a violinist in the Terry Sanford Orchestra). Cole often held some very random jobs, which included being a newspaper salesman, bill collector, tax clerk, and perhaps the most fun of all, a kangaroo mascot at a local skating rink. At least now he doesn’t have to worry about cleaning his costume after a long shift!
