With the resurgence of Atlanta’s hip-hop scene taking form with artists like 2 Chainz and T.I., Grand Hustle affiliate DJ Drama recently sat down with SOHH to discuss the city’s unity.

In Drama’s eyes, he sees Atlanta artists of every tier working together to put on for their city with quality music.

“It’s dope to see artists like Young Jeezy and T.I. working with the new cats,” Drama told SOHH. “It’s cool seeing Roscoe Dash and Travis Porter coming up and making waves in the game. Just being a deejay and just being a part of it, not only making the music but playing the music and being a medium between the music and the people, I love my position and I’m always prepared to play that role and make sure dope music is coming out and going where it’s supposed to go.” (SOHH)

The popular deejay also recently talked to SOHH about his new “We In This B*tch” ATL anthem.

“It’s always the people that make the decision [on how good something is], but I definitely knew I had something special,” Drama told SOHH, “and even the way the record came together, you know, it had no other choice but to be special. From me getting the beats from Kane [Beatz], which took about a year, to the idea of the hook coming to me and giving it to Future, with the space that he’s in right now. And then me getting Tip, Jeezy and [Ludacris] on one record, what it means to Atlanta and me repping for the city and me making that vision. It definitely is a special record and I’m glad to be a part of it. It’s exciting, especially for what it means to the culture.” (SOHH)

The music video officially premiered online earlier this month.

ATL stand up. DJ Drama teams with Young Jeezy, T.I., Ludacris, and Future in the video for “We in This B*tch,” the first single off his upcoming album Quality Street Music. The Atlanta rappers perform against different colored backdrops in the Benny Boom-directed clip. “We gonna do a classic, kinda ‘Flava in Ya Ear’ throwback video,” said Boom. “We wanted to do something epic performance-wise. You got the best in ATL coming together all on one track, so we wanted to make sure that we did things phenomenally.” (Rap-Up)

Outside of the Peach State, Drama and New York rap star 50 Cent are preparing the release of a new mixtape dropping next week.

“I’m back on the streets man, it’s goin’ down. Gangsta Grillz, the first Gangsta Grillz, it’s been long overdue,” 50 told Mixtape Daily on Friday while he was sitting in his G-Unit office in midtown Manhattan. On May 22 Fif is teaming with DJ Drama to drop The Lost Tape, a 13-track mixtape filled with murderous material. “I don’t want to put too many joints on a tape where it overwhelms people and I don’t like making Now compilations where I got so many people on it where you ain’t sure you like it,” he said of his formula.
