Is Drake really leaving Nike for Adidas? According to Nick DePaula, Nice Kick’s creative director and featured writer for ESPN, the negotiations are quite far along.
You wouldn’t know that if you watched Drake when the All-Star NBA weekend was on, though. He announced a collaboration between himself and Nike and showed off the new OVO x Air Jordan 8.
The rumor seems a little odd, considering that Drake has been with the company since 2013, but it is not unprecedented for a music star to jump ship and join the opposition.
If Drizzy does so, he’s set to be in pretty good company – Pharrell Williams and Kanye West have already joined up with the Adidas brand, and the collaboration seems to be doing well on that front.
