Rap mogul Irv Gotti knows artists like Drake come once in a blue moon. The hip-hop executive has put some serious respect on the 6 God’s name.

In a new interview, Gotti compared Drizzy to hip-hop superstar Eminem based off selling ability alone.

“If Drake was in my era, Drake would be selling 15 million to 20 million a clip. Do you realize this? So right now he sells, 3-4 [million], if he was in my era, he would be selling 15 to 20. So I know this so I’m like, once he does something outside the music genre, he’s going to see how collasal he is. That n*gga’s collasal. He’s a genius. He’s a genius. That motherf*cker is a genius. Drizzy for sure is a genius. He’s, dare I say, he’s our Eminem of today. He’s f*cking Eminem.” (“Drink Champs”)

Recent reports suggested Em’s next solo album would possibly arrive in November.

Coincidentally, D12’s Mr. Porter recently admitted to joking about the LP’s completion.

Complex reached out to Denaun Porter, who said that his statement that Eminem was “done” with his new album was simply him joking with interneters who kept asking him about status of the long-awaited project. “They trolled the shit out of me the whole time,” he explained. “Anytime they come in there, they can expect to get trolled with any kind of question like that,” the producer said. “I’m never the person to give up that kind of information. I might say, ‘Hey, we’re working on it’ or ‘Hey, we’re close.’ But I’m never going to be the guy that gives up the information. But they can get trolled.” (Complex)

Back in August, buzz developed about the potential release date for Em’s next solo album.

Lucian Grainge’s UMG group (with 36.5% SPS marketshare YTD) is lined up to have a gigantic year-end. Our spies tell us to expect albums this fall from Eminem (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) Taylor Swift (Big Machine) and Sam Smith (Capitol), three of Uni’s biggest stars, as the chart of expected upcoming releases below indicates.
