According to reports, Leonard will take less money to play where his heart is.

The LA Clippers are making a blockbuster trade for Oklahoma City Thunderforward Paul George, clearing the path for free agent Kawhi Leonard to sign with the Clippers on a four-year, $141 million contract, league sources told ESPN. In an 11th-hour move to keep Leonard from partnering with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the Los Angeles Lakers, the Clippers are trading four future unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick and two pick swaps to the Thunder to get George, league sources told ESPN. During his one-year tenure in Toronto, Leonard turned into an immediate fan favorite and helped the franchise win its first-ever NBA championship.

Leonard will now be joining his third team in as many years. The two-time Defensive Player of the Year was traded to the Raptors from the San Antonio Spurs in July 2018, after spending the first seven years of his career under Gregg Popovich. Leonard elevated his game to a new level during the playoffs, averaging 30.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game, on 49 percent shooting from the field. The superstar averaged 28.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and two steals during the Finals. (Yahoo! Entertainment)

Over the past few hours, social media has erupted with reactions to Kawhi’s game-changing exit.
