Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is keeping fans waiting. The hip-hop artist has revealed her long-awaited Digital Distortion album is still on the shelf.
According to Iggy, her label home Def Jam has no confirmed release date for the highly-anticipated release.
In Snapchat videos which have since been deleted, the 26-year-old slammed executives at the company for confusing her and her fans over the date, revealing: ‘I have no idea when it’s coming out.’ In videos shared to Snapchat on Thursday, Iggy tells her fans that she has ‘no idea’ when Digital Distortion after being initially told it would come out on June 2. ‘But then they were like “no we changed our mind, let’s put the preorder up on at June 2”,’ she said. Prior to their breakup, Iggy’s ex-fiancé Nick Young spoke up on the delayed project’s greatness.
“Aw man, it’s gonna be the best album of 2016. I got my Swaggy P feature on it so that’s why it’s gon’ blow up. [Laughs] I see how hard she be in the studio and I heard a couple songs. Couple surprises and a lot of features on there. It’ll be dope.” (Billboard)
During a past Twitter chat with followers, Iggy admitted pop influenced her sound.
Back in October 2015, Iggy announced her sophomore studio album’s title.
Raise of hands on who’s checking for this CD? Exactly LOL
The sad thing is that she could have been a successful pop artist but the whole “white Australian rapper” thing killed her career.
