Hustle Gang’s Iggy Azalea recently dished on her relationship with Top Dawg Entertainment’s Kendrick Lamar and revealed how close they are to being family.
According to Iggy, K. Dot is the cousin to her NBA fiancé Nick Young.
“I’m not sure if he’ll go [to my wedding] or not, but he’s definitely invited. Nick and Kendrick are cousins, first cousins. His mom and Nick’s mom are pretty close,” Iggy revealed in an interview. “Kendrick’s always been supportive. When I see him, he’s always like, ‘What’s up, cousin?’ I’m like, ‘We’re not cousins yet, but cool, I’ll take this.’ I haven’t asked him for any advice, but Kendrick and I have actually had a lot of conversations before I even was dating Nick because we used to do the festival circuits in Europe.” (Real 92.3)
A few days ago, Iggy spoke on her delayed wedding plans.
“I’m planning a wedding. Actually, I moved my wedding ’cause I have to tour, so my wedding plans are changing,” she said during an interview that aired on KISS-FM’s On Air With Ryan Seacrest show on Friday (March 18) “It was going to happen at the end of the year, but now I have to go to work, so we’ll probably have to wait until the end of the next basketball season to do that. So that kind of is a bit sucky, but it’s all right.” (Billboard)
Recently, Iggy talked about needing some time away from touring.
“I just feel I deserve a break. I’ve been going non-stop for the past two years, nearly every single day. I’m not in a bad place. I think sometimes when you say you need a mental break, people are like, “A mental break? Be sure you don’t have a breakdown because you’re sad.” No, not necessarily. It’s very emotionally draining to be on all the time and going all the time, planning all the time. It’s a lot, and it’s tough. I need a break from everything to just enjoy what I worked so hard for, and I don’t really feel like I’ve had a chance to do that. I need a break to figure out what I want my sound to progress to, and I need a break to figure out how I want my visuals to progress.” (Seventeen)
Earlier this year, Iggy dished on the possibility of having kids with Young.
“I’d raise them here but I’d make them go to Australia every summer because I want them to know our culture and everything. I wouldn’t want them to not know anything about Australia. [Will I have to make that decision soon?] I hope not. [laughs] I have too much stuff to do. [Do I want kids soon?] No. I’m only 25. [When?] I don’t know, 30. [Sooner?] No, he already has a young kid.
