Hustle Gang rapper Iggy Azalea recently updated fans on her relationship with NBA fiancé Nick Young and why their long-awaited wedding has been placed on hold.
According to Iggy, she has put an intent to tour over rushing their big wedding day.
“I’m planning a wedding. Actually, I moved my wedding ’cause I have to tour, so my wedding plans are changing,” she said during an interview that aired on KISS-FM’s On Air With Ryan Seacrest show on Friday (March 18) “It was going to happen at the end of the year, but now I have to go to work, so we’ll probably have to wait until the end of the next basketball season to do that. So that kind of is a bit sucky, but it’s all right.” (Billboard)
Recently, Iggy talked about needing some time away from touring.
“I just feel I deserve a break. I’ve been going non-stop for the past two years, nearly every single day. I’m not in a bad place. I think sometimes when you say you need a mental break, people are like, “A mental break? Be sure you don’t have a breakdown because you’re sad.” No, not necessarily. It’s very emotionally draining to be on all the time and going all the time, planning all the time. It’s a lot, and it’s tough. I need a break from everything to just enjoy what I worked so hard for, and I don’t really feel like I’ve had a chance to do that. I need a break to figure out what I want my sound to progress to, and I need a break to figure out how I want my visuals to progress.” (Seventeen)
Recently, Iggy dished on the possibility of having kids with Young.
“I’d raise them here but I’d make them go to Australia every summer because I want them to know our culture and everything. I wouldn’t want them to not know anything about Australia. [Will I have to make that decision soon?] I hope not. [laughs] I have too much stuff to do. [Do I want kids soon?] No. I’m only 25. [When?] I don’t know, 30. [Sooner?] No, he already has a young kid. Yeah, we have our hands full already.” (TMZ)
Although brief with his words, Nick Young recently said their wedding planning had been stressful.
“Whew, a nightmare in its own. I think we should go to the courthouse. [Laughs] It’s tough, it takes a lot of time and compromising and arguing but eventually the women always win. I think [wedding days] should just be women’s day.” (Billboard)
