Australian rapper Iggy Azalea looks like she’s ready to go indie-indie. The hip-hop diva has hinted at plans to go the solo route on social media.

This week, Iggy hopped on Twitter with a few since-deleted statements about wanting to part ways with record label Island Records.

“I love Island, but don’t want a label,” she said. “There are conversations happening at the moment. I want to be my own boss. I feel I would be better off if I could make my own timeline etc choices and I have the funds to do it.” She added: “It’s just a conversation I don’t know if I will be able to actually make it happen or not. I would still be happy with Island they are good people too… just feel it would be better for me as a business to have the control when im confident I can run it well alone.” (Breathe Heavy)

In February, a report emerged about Iggy low-key parting ways with Def Jam Records.

Sources tell Billboard it was not long after that internal spat spilled out into the public last year that Azalea was shifted from Def Jam to Island. Both labels are owned by the Universal Music Group, and when Azalea first signed with the company back in 2013, the two were combined under the umbrella Island Def Jam Music Group. On April 1, 2014, Universal announced a reorganization of its East Coast labels operation that involved the separation of Island Records, Def Jam Recordings and Motown into three individual standalone labels; three weeks later, Azalea’s major label debut album, The New Classic, was released via Def Jam, not Island. Recently, Azalea shared a coupled up shot of herself and her hip-hop boyfriend Playboi Carti.

In late September, Iggy shared a coupled up shot of herself alongside PC.
