Hollywood actor Ice Cube and Dr. Dre are reminding fans their long-awaited N.W.A. biopic is really happening by releasing a photo of the flick’s primary cast. #AndTheWinnersAre

A new photo of Cube, the Doc and director F. Gary Gray has hit the Internet.

Dre will be played by classically-trained actor Marcus Callender, Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. will fill in for his famous father, and Jason Mitchell (Broken City, Contraband) will take on the role of the late Eazy-E. Cube and Dre posed alongside the actors and director F. Gary Gray. “Finally found the cast for the NWA movie. Me, Gary Gray, Dre w/ Cube, Eazy & Dre #StraightOuttaCompton coming 8/14/15,” tweeted Cube. Straight Outta Compton hits theaters on August 14, 2015. Production is set to begin this summer. (Rap-Up)

Cube recently talked about wanting Dr. Dre to get behind the film’s soundtrack.

“I’m trying to convince [Dr.] Dre that we should do some new tracks for the movie,” Ice Cube told MTV News correspondent Josh Horowitz last week in Los Angeles when he sat to talk about the upcoming “22 Jump Street.” “It’s in very good shape. ‘Straight Outta Compton’ will be shot in August. So we have a director Gary Gray, he’s our director. We have a cast that’s going to be announced in the next week or two, so [it’s] full-steam ahead,” he said. (MTV)

Cube also explained how much involvement he has on the long-awaited project.

“I’m totally involved, I’m engulfed in it. This is our legacy, you can’t play with this, there’s no cutting corners,” he said. “I’m fully engulfed in that movie, very anal about it. It gotta be right.” (MTV)

Back in summer 2012, Dre tweeted a photo from the N.W.A. set.

Dr. Dre tweeted a picture of him on the set of N.W.A.’s forthcoming movie with the director F. Gary Gray. “Dre & F Gary Gray – The NWA Movie kicks off the collaboration! Expect more incredible projects from this powerhouse duo.” There’s been talk about a N.W.A. biopic for years now, and finally, filming has come to fruition. During our interview with Cube, he revealed that the N.W.A. biopic was still being planned out and that he wanted his own son to play him in the movie. (Global Grind)
