[After releasing an impressive DJ Drama-hosted Dying To Live mixtape last year, Ohio native MistaRogers speaks to SOHH about his approach to putting together the memorable project and how he chooses collaborators.]
I had almost completed “Dying To Live” before I handed it over to DJ Drama. All of that kind of goes back to me having an event coordinating company and the team I worked with on that.
As they booked talent, they developed relationships with them and I might spin a record and see if they could do something on that.
I had mostly gotten all of the features prior to presenting the mixtape to DJ Drama and moving forward, I just want to break myself as an artist.

I’m the machine pushing me. As that happens, you gotta align yourself with the music you like to listen to. I try to make sure my features are people I actually listen to in my car and I enjoy vibing to.
