Hollywood icon Robin Williams has reportedly passed away this week at the age of 63 leaving behind a legacy of award-winning films and television shows.

According to reports, Williams died Monday (August 11) morning in California.

Around 11:55 a.m. Monday, sheriff’s officials said, a 911 call came in about a man who was unresponsive in his home in Tiburon. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Williams “has been battling severe depression of late,” his publicist Mara Buxbaum said. “This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.” (Los Angeles Times)

Williams’ publicist broke the news of his unexpected passing Monday evening.

“Robin Williams passed away this morning,” rep Mara Buxbaum said in a statement tonight. “He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.” (ABC News)

Fellow Hollywood actor Steve Martin reacted to Robin’s shocking death.
