Hollywood filmmaker Steven McQueen wants the world to know the truth about late music icon Tupac Shakur. The director is reportedly piecing together a full-length feature documentary about 2Pac’s life.

According to reports, McQueen will receive the support of Pac’s estate and record label for the project.

“I am extremely moved and excited to be exploring the life and times of this legendary artist. I attended NYU film school in 1993 and can remember the unfolding hip-hop world and mine overlapping with Tupac’s through a mutual friend in a small way. Few, if any shined brighter than Tupac Shakur. I look forward to working closely with his family to tell the unvarnished story of this talented man.” Beyond the support of Shakur’s estate, the film will also have the support of Interscope Records, which release most of Shakur’s catalog, and Universal Music Publishing Group. A few days ago, a scene surfaced from the upcoming 2Pac All Eyez On Me biopic.

Last month, hip-hop star T.I. showed his support for the upcoming must-see.

Earlier this year, rap veteran Game co-signed All Eyez On Me star Demetrius Shipp Jr.‘s portrayal of the late hip-hop icon.

“To play 2Pac, to do a movie on 2Pac, we as the fan or the consumer or the moviegoer watching it, you looking for any flaw. I’m gonna tell you that homie that did it, is really, he’s murking it. Shout-out to Met, Demetrius. He killed it. When the movie first came on, it’s not Pac per se, himself. So you’re a little critical. You’re like, ‘Let me see.’ And I’m talking about 10 minutes in, it switch. Then by the time the movie ends, you forgot you weren’t watching Pac. That’s how much he dug into that role. They did a really good job with that movie.”
