Alex Wiley: Chicago has become a hip hop hot bed, churning out rap super star after rap super star. The musical scene in Chicago is ever growing and unique. Alex Wiley is adding to that scene with his psychedelic and melodic sound. After putting out his highly acclaimed mixtape Village Party in 2014 he dropped the squeal this November, Village Party 2: Heaven’s Gate. Before dropping his debut album, Alex Wiley went on tour with “Save Dat Money” star Lil Dicky. Alex Wiley is ready to capture the music industry with his trippy sounds and witty word play.

Rockie Fresh: Rockie Fresh is another reason why Chicago is one of the most important cities in hip hop. The MMG member has been out of the limelight for a while as he hasn’t dropped a project in almost three years. He burst back into the scene recently with the release of his album The Night I Went To… The 13 track project features songs with Ed Sheeran, Rick Rock and Chris Brown. On The Night I Went To… Rockie uses upbeat, electronic, dance tracks to help accentuate his smooth flow.

KYLE: Amazing music isn’t the only thing KYLE makes he also brings happiness to thousands of his fans. KYLE has been touring with artists like G-Eazy and Watsky waiting till it was his time to shine. Now KYLE is on the top of many hip hop fans list of the next big thing. KYLE took over 2015 as he went on his own headlining tour, featured on a track with Big Sean and released his album SMYLE. He is about to take over the world while on a mission to spread positivity.

Roy Wood$: Like a magician Roy Wood$ mysteriously appeared out of nowhere and rose through the ranks of Toronto’s hip hop scene. He was first seen in Drake’s “Energy” video hanging out with the 6 God himself. He then reappeared on the OVO Sound Radio show as his track “Drama” featuring Drake premiered on the show. Since then his spacey, melodic singing has swept the city especially after his debut album Exis.

Pell: The New Orleans native has been helping to transform the way we hear hip hop. He pairs up his incredible vocals with his slick rhymes to create the bangers we all love. Pell has been on the grind from dropping his debut album Limbo to now going on his first headlining tour. He is taking what we think hip hop is and flip it right on its head to create something amazingly new.

These are the five artists I recently showcased on Hip Hop Attack brought to you by SOHH. Every Friday 6-7pm on CFRE Radio. If you missed any shows don’t worry, check it out on Soundcloud now!
