Tory Lanez: The One Umbrella founder has been grinding for years and now he’s finally getting his time to shine. 2015 has been a huge year for Tory Lanez his song “Say It” blew up, Ed Sheeran covered it, he went on tour with Mac Miller and he even recently sold out a show in the Six. His aggressive bars paired with his infectious vocals will make you an instant fan.

Derin Falana: Brampton has been a hotbed for musical talent recently with artists like Pryde, Tory Lanez and Alessia Cara all coming out of the Flower City. Derin Falana is still very new to the scene as he released his first ever mixtape 905 back in March. His ear for dark, melodic beats paired with his intense flow combine to create amazing music. Derin Falana has the drive and talent he needs to make it big.

Dalos: Aka Yung Papi Bonito is putting his own twist on the dark, spacey, auto tuned singing that we have come accustomed to coming out of the six. Pryde’s homie has been dropping banger after banger ever since the summer. With only four songs out he has created an impressive buzz for himself. Just beware his music will make you want to stunt on your haters and tell girls that they have lame boyfriends.

John River: You can compare John River’s music to J Cole’s; he even makes that comparison. Since meeting his hero John River has crafted his own sound and has really grown into his flow. With the recent release of his highly anticipated mixtape The Storm, John is starting to take over the city. People are taking notice of his hard hitting bars about life and the society we live in.

Pryde: In 2015 alone Pryde released two incredible mixtapes Plan A and Richvale Summer. He hasn’t stopped working once as he got off a headlining tour this summer and then went straight to working on his upcoming album Russell. Pryde has been one of my favourite rappers for a long time now. He’s one of those rappers that make it look so easy. His ability to tell a story through songs can’t be compared to anyone else. Pryde is about to take over the world in 2016, just watch.

These are the five artists I recently showcased on Hip Hop Attack brought to you by SOHH. Every Friday 6-7pm on CFRE Radio. If you missed any shows don’t worry, check it out on Soundcloud now!
