This self appointed King just jacked Logic’s whole flow.
I think it’s the other way around.
Debatable.
Not really, Logic sounds like Drizzy and Cole had a baby. He clones niggas.
i saw this same comment on the youtube video…..i think its the other way around!
I fucks with it, not many people in hip hop, especially at his status would even touch this subject matter. Niggas will make up reasons to dislike it, but I commend the young man for his art, skill, and lyrical prowess.
In these times in hip hop you gotta respect a nigga that goes against the grain, and pushes a strong message of self love. He is carrying a bulk of what hip hop is supposed to be. Respect
You gotta listen carefully though. He starts off saying he’s the biggest hypocrite in 2015 before relaying the vengeful animus Black men have for a power structure clearly designed to instate, perpetuate and facilitate their decimation by way of penitentiary or murder, but by verse three transitions into a narrative delineating the omnipresent Black self hatred prevalent in underprivileged and ostracized communities of color.
Although I don’t completely share your perspective on all aspects of this particular joint, you make the room smarter just by your being in it. Salute.
Preciate it homie.Respect.
Which aspects do you disagree with?
I have to say that everything you noted is true but not known by a lot of people in the community. Even if he didn’t commit to a side he brought the conversation that’s happening in mainstream to the hood. Comments made by those people you noted are whats being said with some validity.,,And it can seem confusing when you lose 2 brothers one to a stranger and one to your other brother and feel differently about the loss. I think he paints a picture of the facts which are contradictory. We know why but to not mention it’s affects on us would be leaving those not realizing still not realizing..
Right right. The reason people feel differently is because when a cop or racist vigilante like Trayvon Martin kills a Black person they escape accountability whereas when we kill each other we get arrested, charged, and prosecuted right away. The bitch who killed Trayvon Martin didn’t even get arrested until nearly two months later AFTER protests, marches, and rallies. Cops who kill unarmed Black men and women almost always escape accountability. I feel like maybe Kendrick doesn’t realize that’s the difference and why outrage is leveled differently. In some cases, the courts or street justice issue accountability but in cases where the murderer is connected to the state or is closer to white, it appears they can kill Blacks with impunity.
“Emancipation of a real nigga” yeah. Lyrically, this record is reminiscent of Jeru the Damaja’s “The Frustrated Nigga”. Dope shit. I fuck with it.
My opinion changed a bit, see my response to 5789007.
i had to listen a couple times before i comprehended and am still listening! i get it
