Everybody who turned on Super Bowl LV this past Sunday saw some major talent. R&B diva Jazmine Sullivan and country star Eric Church crushed the 2021 national anthem and received a little help from another fellow star.
Sullivan + Church + H.E.R. Crush Super Bowl Performances
The duo had some serious competition on their hands when R&B star H.E.R. came out for her performance. While Jazmine and Eric absolutely slayed their rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” H.E.R. gave a soulful take on “America the Beautiful”.
2 Chainz Trolls Pepsi Over Weeknd’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz noticed something very interesting about the Super Bowl LV halftime performance. Deuce has come forward to react to The Weeknd putting on a stunning set but also acknowledge a key theme in the singer’s tunes. Deuce hopped onto Instagram with a hilarious observation. Despite the halftime show being perceived as PG for viewers, Chainz acknowledged Weeknd’s content and played on the fact it was presented by Coca-Cola rival Pepsi.
“the Pepsi halftime show but every song is about coke”
“đ legendary”
Aside from the playful trolling, Chainz also acknowledged his love for Weeknd’s music.

The Weeknd Super Bowl Halftime Greatness
For nearly 20 minutes, Weeknd came through with hits everyone could remember. From his most recent singles to classics he started his career out with in the early 2010s, the Toronto crooner held every generation down.
He opened with âStarboyâ and âThe Hills.â When he did âCanât Feel My Face,â he went into a tight mirrored corridor accompanied by a bunch of people with their faces bandaged up. He reemerged for âI Feel It Comingâ and âSave Your Tears.â A string section joined him for âEarned It.â The Weeknd and his dancers hit the field for âHouse of Balloonsâ (yesâa Siouxsie and the Banshees sample played at the Super Bowl) and then a massive performance of âBlinding Lights.â (Pitchfork)
The Weeknd Deals With Grammy Snub
When Grammy nominations were announced in November and The Weeknd was completely snubbed for his album After Hours, no one could believe it. The artist reacted by calling the awards “corrupt” and demanding answers. In a recent Billboard magazine cover story, he promised he had moved on.
“Look, I personally donât care anymore. I have three Grammys, which mean nothing to me now, obviously. Itâs not like, ‘Oh, I want the Grammy!’ Itâs just that this happened, and I’m down to get in front of the fire, as long as it never happens again. I suck at giving speeches anyways. Forget awards shows.”
