While details are still emerging, the Miami rapper is now roaming the streets.

Cower in fear: MMG rapper and human L.A. Riot Richard Morales, better known as Gunplay, is apparently back on the street after his October arrest for armed robbery and aggravated assault charges, according to DDotOmen and confirmed by both Gunplay and Rick Ross‘ Twitter accounts. The news comes just in time for the release of the rapper’s Cops and Robbers mixtape, due out tomorrow. The follow-up to last year’s 601 and Snort and The Prelude mixtapes, which helped build his buzz after a high-profile Kendrick Lamar collaboration; that song was listed as Complex’s second-best song of 2012. The house arrest release confirmation reportedly stems from Gunplay’s camp.

It would appear as if Gunplay is having a bit of luck following an awards show and an arrest. From D-Dot Omen himself: [Today, I can exclusively confirm after speaking with Gunplay’s camp that he is now back on the street after a judge has granted his house arrest be lifted, which is just in time for his Cops N Robbers mixtape release, dropping tomorrow. Fuck it, got a budget for the lawyer tho.] (JukeBox Dope Content)

In early December, he spoke on being confined to his crib and the likelihood of getting temporarily released.

“I’ve been on house arrest for about a month now, I just went to court today. They pushed the trial back to next year, the middle of next year, so I’m still gonna be on house arrest for the meantime, but I’ma try and see if I can get some travel permission by this week, so I should be trying to hit that turf by next week still. It’s like a 75 percent chance right now [I’ll go out and tour], this case really made me sit down and realize the blessings that have been bestowed upon me. I can’t take it for granted. I’m just locked down and focused on my album.” (Global Grind)

Last fall, footage of Gunplay’s actual crime sprouted online.

Rapper Gunplay PULLED A FIREARM on his accountant during a meeting in April in an explosive fit of rage … and the entire incident was captured by surveillance cameras. Gunplay allegedly stole a cell phone and a gold chain during the incident … and was later charged with armed robbery. He turned himself in to Miami-Dade Police earlier this week. Gunplay — real name Richard Morales Jr. — also faces a second charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. According to the rapper’s attorney, Gunplay could face life in prison if convicted on both counts. (TMZ)
