According to Gucci’s rep, good behavior helped him chopped a six-month jail sentence in half.

He’s free… again! On Sunday (Dec. 11), Gucci Mane was released from Fulton County jail after serving three months of his six month sentence due to good behavoir, Mane’s rep tells Billboard.com’s The Juice. On Sept. 13., Gucci Mane, born Radric Davis, was sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct, according to Emly Gest, spokeswoman for the Dekalb County Solicitor-General’s Office. After getting released on Sunday (December 11), the Atlanta rapper vowed to stay out of jail cells permanently.

“This is the last time I think I’ll ever be in jail,” Gucci told XXLMag.com. “I really feel that way. … It was a time for me to sit back and just refocus the whole way I do things, man. … The times away from my fans just made me want to grind, get in the studio, go to my shows and appreciate my job and what I do now.” (XXL Mag)

The ATL rapper made headlines in October when a judge rejected his plea for an early jail release.

The bad news came in twos Friday for rapper Gucci Mane, aka Radric Davis, who learned he was being slapped with a civil suit minutes after a DeKalb County judge ruled against his attorney’s motion for reduced jail time. The woman identified Davis by the ice cream cone tattoo on the rapper’s face. Her attorney, B.J. Bernstein, said Friday Davis needs to be held accountable. “He thinks the rules don’t apply to him,” she said. Davis’ attorneys, seeking to get his six-month jail sentence cut in half Friday, offered to have the 31-year-old MC stage a concert on behalf of the DeKalb County Battered Women’s Shelter. But DeKalb State Court Judge Eleanor Ross was not moved, saying. “I don’t think it would be appropriate to let him out just because he’s a rapper.” (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

Prior to his release, the rapper’s close friend/producer DJ Holiday hit up SOHH and shared his take on the legal matter.

“It’s never a good feeling, man,” Holiday told SOHH. “You never wanna see your friends put in jail — but Gucci’s a strong dude. It’s not like he hasn’t been in the situation before. It’s unfortunate, but at the same time the system’s wack, man. I don’t know exactly all the details of it, but he’s my friend and I got files and files of music on him that people ain’t never heard so it’s nothing for me to get a call from him to put [more] music out.” (SOHH)
